Responding To God's Grace
God is Faithful
Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5)
God Forgives
Numbers 14:26-30 New International Version26 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: 27 “How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites. 28 So tell them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say: 29 In this wilderness your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me.30 Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
For Reflection
Their journey was long and arduous. The slavery they left was comforting in comparison with the perils they faced or imagined. Tired and feeling abandoned, the refugees struggled to keep faith and hope. God became the reason for their predicament, not their savior. Grumbling and griping are familiar among so many of us. God becomes the "original born loser" -- blamed for everything untoward - the uncontrollable act of God.Only a few of the stalwart believers look beyond their current troubles to find God's solution and peace in the turbulence.
Pray
Pray and look to God's tomorrows when all will be revealed, and you will find rest.
