Love and Obedience to the Commandments

John 14:15-17 (The Message)
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15"If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

For Reflection:
We act, as Christians, not out of obedience to the law, but rather, out of love for God and gratitude and thanksgiving for the sacrifice He made of Jesus, his son.  How do we know what an act of love is?  Listen to the Spirit of truth.  Sit quietly and let yourself think of an action that reflects the love of God.  Allow the Spirit to move you.  The Spirit lives in you.  Listen.

Pray that you will be lead by the spirit of the living God.  Pray that your decisions to act are not made in haste.  Reflect on the love or god.  Listen to the Holy Spirit.
