Job 24:13-17

The Message

 ^13-17 "Then there are those who avoid light at all costs,
   who scorn the light-filled path.
When the sun goes down, the murderer gets up—
   kills the poor and robs the defenseless.
Sexual predators can't wait for nightfall,
   thinking, 'No one can see us now.'
Burglars do their work at night,
   but keep well out of sight through the day.
   They want nothing to do with light.
Deep darkness is morning for that bunch;
   they make the terrors of darkness their companions in crime.

For Reflection 

Born of the Dark Side!  How many times have you thought that about someone who was extremely difficult?  How do you deal with difficult self-centered people?  How does your faith protect you from abuse?  The Dark Side Has power over you only to the extent that you give it to them.  What would happen if you held fast to your God-centered wisdom and truly believed God was protecting you?  What would change in your response to abusive power?

Pray
that you will remain God-centered in the face of difficult people. Pray that you will avoid the temptation to meet anger with anger, ill will with ill will. self defense with self defense.  Pray that you meet adversity with love.
