The Message

^22-24 Then when the days stipulated by Moses for purification were complete, they took him up to Jerusalem to offer him to God as commanded in God’s Law: “Every male who opens the womb shall be a holy offering to God,” and also to sacrifice the “pair of doves or two young pigeons” prescribed in God’s Law.

For Reflection

Jesus was born into the law.  He was not some outsider who had no right to his heritage.  Jesus was a Jew.  Faith in God was a prescription for right behavior.  And yet there were always those whose faith took them beyond the law into the intent of the law.  Which is more important to you? 

Pray

that you will follow the call of God.  Pray that by the example of the Christ you will be obedient to the will of God.
