False Teachers

Responding To God's Grace

God is Faithful

Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5)

Spared

2 Peter 2:1-10 New International Version

False Teachers and Their Destruction

2 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed, these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

For Reflection

To become absent of sin, while attractive, cannot be fully achieved except through the right relationship with the Creator. Many will tell you that this or that action is sinful without mentioning the root cause of that sin. Some who speak in God's name will commit atrocities to rid the world of sin. They miss the point. They conflate love with hate.

They confuse justice with punishment. They and those who follow these self-appointed spokespeople will self destruct.

A Christian's role is not to rid the world of sin but to heal those who suffer from the absence of a relationship with their maker.

Pray

Pray so that you will abide in the way of Jesus Christ. Pray so that you can honor the divinity of your creation. Pray so that you can keep your eye on the will of God.
